Solar Generators

RV batteries, generators and Solar Panels?

I have a question that is so fundamental that, probably why no one was covered. Whenever I mention being noisy generators and not a campground friendly they boast that the new models are more Silent … may be quieter but the noise is not much noise and not a direction I'm ready to fall … ever! This leaves the energy Solar and battery banks good? I currently have 2 batteries and from comparing prices on Solar Energy and is still quite expensive. Here in the north, a solar still decent you run beyond $ 800 CAN. A sealed battery to my RV is about $ 100 so I wonder how much bang for my buck I receive by adding new batteries? How many batteries are Overkill … is there such a thing as too many? I understand the virtues of solar, but I have no information on the banks of the battery?

The easy answer is something about this you need is kill more. Get a kil-a-Watt (40 m USD) and see how many watts you are usually in 24 hours .. If you use a battery Divide 12 volts wattage number bank of 12 volts. This gives you AH's how you use. NEVER EVER you want to run a battery below 50% discharged. So double the number above and you size your battery bank in ampere-hours. Now that you know how many cells in AH, you mutliply that number by .05 and you have the Amps you need in solar modules. Example .. If you have a group of 450 Ah batteries (4 Trojan T-105) = 450 * , 05 22.5 amps at 12 volts. Now times volts gives Ampere Watt 22.5 * 12 = 270 watts in the minium modules.
